Bio
Aleta has been creating art all her life, predominately working with pencil. Her arts practice focuses on the figure and more recently has incorporated landscapes and capturing musical performances. Whilst Aleta has been exhibiting her work for over two decades her passion for environmental justice saw her pursue an early career in sustainability research. During this time Aleta published several academic papers on the value of Art for achieving sustainability outcomes, whilst maintaining her personal arts practice and exhibiting her work, both in group and solo shows. Recently moving to Tasmania has brought the opportunity to pursue her art professionally. The most recent focus for Aleta’s practice has been landscapes and live musical performances. She has been drawing live in concert for over a decade and has recently connected with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO) in this light.
