Bio
Aleta Lederwasch is an Australian artist based in lutruwita/Tasmania. Her arts practice is diverse, ranging from traditional drawing and painting, predominately figurative, experimental/meditative drawing, whereby live music directs the journey of pencil, to community and environmental arts based projects and wildlife illustration for conservation purposes (including work for the Jane Goodall Institute, and the Orangutan Foundation International - please refer to www.animalsandbotanicals.com for more on this work). Whilst Aleta has been exhibiting her work for over two decades her passion for environmental justice saw her pursue an early career in sustainability research. During this time Aleta published several academic papers on the value of Art for achieving sustainability outcomes, whilst maintaining her personal arts practice and exhibiting her work, both in group and solo shows.
